How are you doing on your New Year’s resolutions?
You know, this resolution business is not all it’s made out to be. Most people fail at their resolutions. Why embark on something when there is a good chance you’ll fail at it?
Resolutions are a problem because they are produced by our mind. But our mind too often sees us through a distorted lens. We look at the past and then set out to correct the problem in the future. However, we don’t see the past accurately. Instead, our view of ourselves and the past is limited and most likely incorrect. So how can we make the right choice for the future?
Another problem concerns the future itself. It is a mystery! What we experience in our lives is an unfolding of surprising creative possibilities. Can you see that your openness to these possibilities will be limited if you remain stuck to the limited framework of the past?
You’ve probably heard this: So many successful people never planned or even dreamed that their lives would go in the direction they did. I heard Dr. Amy Cuddy speak last week. This was certainly true for her. Dr. Cuddy, whose TED talks has been seen 31 million times (Click Here) had never imagined that her work would resonate to this extent. She never even had a plan to become a social psychologist.
The point is life is about creative surprise. Planning too often limits us.
That said, there is something about doing everything possible to be YOU in your life. And a good way to do that is to get very good at listening. First listen with your whole being, then allow your natural response to emerge. This can take practice, as it means getting free from your mind and judgment to let your free natural response emerge.
Qigong is one of the best ways to learn to drop your mind and let your beautiful spirit, your natural self, appear. I love introducing people to this life changing practice. I see 2016 as an opportunity to share this work with more people. But I’m still open for those unexpected creative moments!
Take a look at the BSH winter/spring 2016 calendar and see if there is a program that speaks to you.
I’d love to see you at one or more of these programs:
- 2 Dragon’s Way® classes,
- programs to overcome anxiety with Qigong “power poses”,
- Qigong for Men’s Sexual Vitality,
- a program to help you get ready for spring’s creative push,
- and a free program to learn about the natural healing power of Qigong.
Is there something else you’d like to learn? Let me know.
I wish you a wonderful year full of creative surprises!
